The Associated Press reports that Katz Kobayashi -- former steel guitar player for Marty Robbins, Bill Anderson, Johnny Russell,
Jeanne Pruett, Alan Jackson and other Grand Ole Opry stars -- died at his home in Panama City Beach, Fla., on Feb. 8 of complications
from a stroke. In the early 1990s, he performed on the Carolina Opry in Myrtle Beach, S.C. A native of Japan, Kobayashi was
60 at the time of his death.
