Sony Legacy released new compilations from Kris Kristofferson and Earl Scruggs on Tuesday (March 2) as part of its Essential
series. Both albums include two CDs as well as extensive liner notes and rare photos. Kristofferson's package includes nearly
all of his entire debut album, as well as collaborations with Rita Coolidge and Willie Nelson. Scruggs' set features music
recorded while working for Bill Monroe, in addition to his years with Flatt & Scruggs. The theme song from The Beverly
Hillbillies and performances on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's landmark Will the Circle Be Unbroken album are also
included.
