Two rare movies starring Johnny Cash are now available on DVD, released on the German imprint Bear Family. Five Minutes to Live, in which Cash plays a killer, was filmed in 1961. It was later re-released as Door to Door Maniac. The Night Rider was filmed in the late 1950s as a pilot for a TV series, with storylines based on hit country songs. Drawing inspiration from "Don't Take Your Guns to Town," Cash plays a gunfighter. The film also features singing cowboy Eddie Dean, as well as Merle Travis, Gordon Terry, Wesley Tuttle and Johnny Western.
