A guitar donated by Dan Tyminski to the Crossroads Guitar Auction was sold for $3,107 with proceeds benefiting a drug and rehabilitation center founded by Eric Clapton in Antigua. Clapton himself donated 56 guitars to the auction, which was held at Christie's in New York City and raised $7.5 million. Tyminski is a member of Alison Krauss & Union Station and sang lead on "Man of Constant Sorrow" from the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. Clapton's famous guitar, Blackie, sold for $959,000 -- the largest price ever paid for a guitar at an auction.
