With his latest No. 1 single, "Live Like You Were Dying," Tim McGraw now holds the record for the most cumulative weeks at the top of Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart since Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) began tracking radio airplay in January 1990. "Live Like You Were Dying" is spending its second week at No. 1 in the Billboard issue dated July 24. With the latest chart, McGraw's singles have spent a total of 58 weeks at the top. "I don't go out trying to record songs I think will go to No. 1," McGraw said. "I try to record songs I think people will respond to. But when a single does make it you feel that you've accomplished that goal ... then there is the pride you feel for everyone else who was a part of that single because it is honestly a team accomplishment."
