Lucinda Williams, Shelby Lynne, Emmylou Harris and Jessi Colter are all featured on Tony Joe White's new album, due Sept.
28. The Heroines is White's first U.S. studio album in six years and his first for Sanctuary Records. "I had known
these women for a long time," says White, "and they've all been like heroes to me through the years." White's daughter Michelle
also guests on the album. White is best known for writing "Polk Salad Annie" and the Brook Benton hit "Rainy Night in Georgia."
