Mindy McCready is expected to appear in a Nashville-area court Monday (Aug. 23) to plead not guilty to a charge of prescription drug fraud, CMT Radio reports. The singer has been free on $10,000 since her Aug. 5 arrest on the felony count. A grand jury indicted her for submitting a fraudulent prescription for the painkiller OxyContin to a Brentwood, Tenn., pharmacy in February. In an interview with CMT Radio Network affiliate WYUU-FM in Tampa, Fla., McCready said her physician wrote the prescription she was filling and that it was a legal prescription even though the pills were not for her. She told the station, "I am not addicted to any drugs. I am not on any painkillers. So, that's the truth. I just want all the fans out there to know that I'm OK. I'm not sick in any way."
