Del R. Bryant has assumed the position of president and CEO of BMI, a performing rights organization. Kenneth J. Elkins, chairman
of BMI's board of directors, made the announcement Monday (April 23). Bryant, a 32-year veteran of the performing rights organization,
most recently served as executive vice president. As was first announced in April, Bryant succeeds Frances W. Preston, who
is retiring after serving as BMI's president and CEO for 18 years. Bryant is the son of Country Music Hall of Fame members
Boudleaux and Felice Bryant, songwriters whose credits include "Bye Bye Love," "Love Hurts" and "All I Have to Do Is Dream."
