Bluegrass band Mountain Heart will perform in Montevideo, Uruguay, and Asuncion, Paraguay, during the first week of September.
This is the band's first trip to South America. The U.S. Embassy in Uruguay invited the band to introduce bluegrass music
to a country where it is seldom heard, and the Central Cultural Department in Paraguay will host the band at a private event.
Mountain Heart is nominated for the entertainer of the year at the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) awards,
to be held Oct. 7 in Louisville, Ky.
