Hurricane Prompts Postponement of McGraw's Swampstock
The threat of heavy rains from Hurricane Ivan has forced Tim McGraw to postpone his Swampstock celebrity concert and softball challenge. The event was scheduled to take place Sunday (Sept. 19) in Rayville, La. Although McGraw's hometown is more than 200 miles from the Gulf Coast, storms are expected to extend into Northeast Louisiana after the hurricane hits the coast sometime Thursday (Sept. 16). The concert was to have featured McGraw, wife Faith Hill, Big & Rich, the Warren Brothers and Jeff Bates. Organizers will not begin considering an alternate date until after the storm passes. "I regret that we have to postpone the show this year," McGraw said, "but it's the right thing to do with the weather that's headed that way. My thoughts and prayers are with people of Louisiana as they prepare for the storm."
