Live performances from the final Vote for Change concert in Washington, D.C., will be televised Oct. 11 during a television
special by legendary filmmakers Albert Maysles and D.A. Pennebaker on cable's Sundance Channel. The Dixie Chicks, James Taylor
and John Mellencamp are among the artists who will be featured in the documentary, National Anthem: Inside the Vote for
Change Concert Tour. In addition to the live performances, the TV special will also include footage from the Vote for
Change tour, a series of concerts aimed at defeating President Bush in the November election. The tour of presidential election
swing states also features Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, the Dave Matthews Band, Jackson Browne,
John Fogerty, John Mellencamp, Pearl Jam and R.E.M. The documentary marks the first time the two filmmakers have worked together
in four decades. Maysles' credits include the Rolling Stones documentary, Gimme Shelter. In the '60s, Pennebaker was
responsible for two major music documentaries: Don't Look Back (focusing on Bob Dylan) and Monterey Pop (from
the rock festival featuring Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and others).
