Big & Rich's "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" is the first country single to be certified gold by counting digital downloads.
The RIAA announced the amendment to its 45-year gold and platinum award program on Wednesday (Oct. 27). Following the lead
of the existing program for shipments of albums and singles to retail stores, gold certification comes with 100,000 downloads
followed by platinum (200,000 downloads) and multi-platinum (in increments of 200,000). Big & Rich released the CD/DVD set
