Overall sales of the 75 top-selling country albums increased 166 percent during the week following CBS-TV's broadcast of the 38th annual CMA Awards. The Nov. 9 awards show coincided with the release of new greatest hits packages from Shania Twain and Toby Keith. With Twain selling 530,000 copies and Keith selling 435,000, their combined success attributes for much of the overall sales spike. However, LeAnn Rimes and Billy Currington saw sales of their latest albums rise by more than 75 percent. Artists enjoying an increase of 50 percent or more include Gretchen Wilson, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, Terri Clark and Big & Rich.
