Bill Ivey, who once headed the Country Music Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, has been named the new president-elect
of the American Folklore Society. Ivey will retain his position as the director of the Curb Center for Art, Enterprise and
Public Policy at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. ... In related news, music journalist Dave Marsh has been elected to
the board of directors of American Roots Publishing. The organization recently received a Grammy nomination for its debut
album, Beautiful Dreamer: The Songs of Stephen Foster. Artists who appeared on the album include David Ball, Suzy Bogguss,
Raul Malo and Mavis Staples.
