Singer Lynn Anderson will be arraigned Friday (Jan. 28) in a Taos, N.M., courtroom on multiple charges stemming from an alleged shoplifting incident. Anderson is accused of stealing a Harry Potter DVD from a local food and drug store on Monday night (Jan. 24), but she also faces a felony count of battery on a police officer after she struck an officer in the arm while she was being led to a patrol car. She is charged with misdemeanor counts of shoplifting and resisting or obstructing an officer. Denton, Texas, police arrested Anderson in December on a drunk driving charge. A resident of Taos, Anderson is best known for her recording of "Rose Garden," a single that spent five weeks at the top of the country chart in 1970.
