The International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) will hold its annual awards show at the Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 27 during
its World of Bluegrass week. This marks the first time the IBMA has held its conference in Nashville. The Ryman is often considered
the birthplace for bluegrass music, as Bill Monroe and His Blue Grass Boys -- Earl Scruggs, Lester Flatt, Chubby Wise and
Cedric Rainwater -- performed there at the Grand Ole Opry in December 1945. Together, these five members are often considered
to be the original bluegrass band.
