Kid Rock has been arrested and charged with simple assault for allegedly punching a disc jockey at an adult entertainment
club near downtown Nashville. The 34-year-old singer, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, is accused of punching Jay Campos
in the face after an apparent dispute over the choice of music being played at Christie's Cabaret. The incident was reported
around 3 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 16). A frequent visitor to Nashville, Kid Rock performed Tuesday (Feb. 15) at the Ryman Auditorium
during a memorial service for music industry legend Merle Kilgore. Following his arrest, Kid Rock was taken to night court
where bond was set at $3,000 on the misdemeanor count.
