Cherryholmes, a family band that earned a 2004 IBMA nomination for emerging artist, has signed a recording contract with Skaggs
Family Records. Originally from Bell, Calif., the band -- father Jere, mother Sandy and four children ages 12 to 21 -- took
up bluegrass as an extension of the family's home-schooling curriculum. Jere quit his job in 2002 so they could tour full-time.
They are currently recording their fourth album with Ben Isaacs as producer.
