Ralph Stanley will issue Shine On, a new album of sacred and spiritual songs, on June 7 on Rebel Records. Produced
by his son, Ralph Stanley II, the album includes songs written by Dolly Parton, Pee Wee King and Albert Brumley. Four of the
14 songs are performed a cappella. Stanley won a Grammy for his version of "O Death" from the O Brother, Where Art Thou
soundtrack. ... In related news, Stanley will host his annual music festival on May 26-28 near his home in Coeburn, Va. Performers
include Norman and Nancy Blake, the James King Band, Jim Lauderdale, Larry Sparks, Josh Turner, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage
and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings.
