Actress and comedienne Lily Tomlin made a surprise appearance when gospel music great Dottie Rambo appeared on the Ernest
Tubb Midnight Jamboree's Saturday night (May 28) broadcast on WSM-AM/Nashville. Tomlin performed briefly as two of her
most famous comedy characters -- Ernestine and Edith Ann -- before joining Rambo on two gospel songs during the show at the
Troubadour Theater in Nashville. Tomlin has a role as a country and gospel singer in director Robert Altman's upcoming film,
A Prairie Home Companion. Tomlin and Altman also worked together in the 1975 film, Nashville.
