The duo Van Zant and Lynyrd Skynyrd have canceled all appearances at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville because of vocalist
Johnny Van Zant's severe case of strep throat. In addition to singing with his brother, Donnie Van Zant, in the duo, Johnny
serves as Lynyrd Skynyrd's lead vocalist. Both acts were scheduled to perform Sunday night (June 12) at the Coliseum. The
four-day CMA Music Festival begins Thursday (June 9) in Nashville.
