Troy Gentry is recuperating at home after undergoing knee surgery on Friday (July 15) at Nashville's Baptist Hospital. Gentry injured his left leg and ankle while riding a horse through a wooded area following Montgomery Gentry's recent show in Fort Loramie, Ohio. The horse fell, breaking Gentry's ankle and tearing ligaments in his leg. Dr. Burton Elrod, who performed the surgery, said Gentry's injury was the worst he'd seen in the seven years he's worked as the team physician for the Tennessee Titans football team. Montgomery Gentry canceled three concerts because of the injury, but the duo will return to the road this weekend for performances in Wisconsin and North Dakota.
