Faith Hill's New Album Debuts At No. 1
Faith Hill's new album, Fireflies, sold 329,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at the top of the country
and pop charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan, the company that tracks retail sales in the U.S. Fireflies, Hill's
sixth album, is her third project to debut at No. 1 on Billboard's country albums chart and the all-genre Billboard
200. The album's first single, "Mississippi Girl," remains at No. 3 on trade publication's country singles chart. ... In related
news, Hill is scheduled to tape part of an upcoming TV special during a Wednesday night (Aug. 10) performance in Nashville.
The session before an invitation-only audience will showcase the songwriters who contributed songs to her new album. Contributors
include Darrell Scott, Lori McKenna, Big & Rich's John Rich and the Warren Brothers' Brett and Brad Warren.
