Funeral services will be held Saturday (Aug. 13) in Poca, W.Va., for Ruth Mattea, mother of singer Kathy Mattea. A resident
of Cross Lanes, W.Va., she died Wednesday (Aug. 10) at age 84 following a lengthy illness. She is also survived by two sons,
Joe Mattea Mattea of Poca and Mike Mattea of Cheshire, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made
to Kanawha Hospice Care Inc., in Dunbar, W.Va., or the Alzheimer's Association in Charleston, W.Va.
