An eight-CD set containing Ray Charles' entire Atlantic Records music catalog is being planned by Rhino Records. Billboard
reports the Sept. 20 release of the boxed set, Ray Charles Pure Genius: The Complete Atlantic Recordings (1952-1959),
will coincide with what would have been Charles' 75th birthday. The collection features 165 tracks, including 27 unreleased
or rare cuts. Charles' seven-year stint on the Atlantic roster had ended before the release of his groundbreaking country
album, Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, in 1962.
