Rascal Flatts lead vocalist Gary LeVox joined his co-writers, Neil Thrasher and Wendell Mobley, to celebrate the group's most
recent No. 1 single, "Fast Cars and Freedom." Rascal Flatts guitarist-vocalist Joe Don Rooney also attended Wednesday's (Aug.
17) festivities at ASCAP's office on Music Row in Nashville. "Fast Cars and Freedom," from the album Feels Like Today,
enjoyed a three-week run at No. 1. LeVox thanked Thrasher and Mobley, acknowledging they should get all the credit for the
song. Executives from Major Bob Music, the company that published the song, presented the writers with car hoods specially
painted to commemorate their achievement. Rascal Flatts return to the road Friday (Aug. 19) in support of its Here's to You
tour. This is the second weekend of tour stops since the band returned from a USO tour of the Persian Gulf.
