Tim McGraw is coming to the aid of his home state Friday (Sept. 2) when he co-headlines A Concert for Hurricane Relief, an hour-long special to air on NBC, MSNBC and CNBC. McGraw, a native of the north Louisiana town of Start, will perform in NBC's studios in New York with two other Louisiana natives -- Harry Connick Jr. and Wynton Marsalis. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio is among those scheduled to make guest appearances on the program airing at 8 p.m. ET. Residents of New Orleans and the entire Gulf Coast area are trying to recover after Hurricane Katrina ravaged Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. "I am heartbroken by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in my home state," McGraw said. "Like so many Americans, I am watching the news reports with great sadness. But it's at times like these that each of us must work together to provide lifesaving aid to those in terrible need. I sincerely encourage everyone to support the American Red Cross, government efforts and others in the non-profit community with this historically unprecedented undertaking." All viewers will be asked to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund at www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW.
