Andy Griffith and Dolly Parton are among the celebrities being honored by President Bush in Washington. Griffith accepted
his Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House on Wednesday (Nov. 9) at the White House. Bush also awarded Muhammad
Ali, Carol Burnett, Aretha Franklin, Alan Greenspan and Jack Nicklaus, among others. ... In related news, Dolly Parton is
among 10 people to be presented the National Medal of Arts, the nation's highest honor for artistic excellence, from the National
Endowment for the Arts. However, Parton will not be able to attend the ceremony on Thursday (Nov. 10) in Washington but will
accept at a later date.
