The celebrity judges for Miss America 2006 have been announced. They include actress Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle),
actress Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives, Miss Arizona 1980), former NFL receiver Jerry Rice, R&B singer Brian McKnight,
fashion expert Robert Verdi and Miss America 1985, Sharlene Wells Hawkes. In related news, the pageant is bringing back the
honor of Miss Congeniality for the first time since 1974. Held at the Aladdin Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Miss America
2006 will air live on CMT on Jan. 21.
