Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood are among the country artists nominated for the 2006 Gospel Music Awards. Paisley's "When
I Get Where I'm Going," Travis' "Angels" and Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel" are nominated in the country recorded song
of the year category, along with Sawyer Brown's "They Don't Understand" and Bart Millard's "Mawmaw's Song (In the Sweet By
and By)." Alison Krauss & Union Station and Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder are nominated in the category of bluegrass
recorded song of the year. Marty Stuart's Soul's Chapel is up for country album of the year, along with Travis' Glory
Train. Vince Gill secured a nomination for producer of the year. The Gospel Music Association will present the awards
in Nashville on April 5.
