Louise Scruggs' friends remembered her by offering heartfelt accolades and musical tributes during Monday's (Feb. 6) funeral
service at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Mrs. Scruggs died Thursday (Feb. 2) following a lengthy illness. One of the
first women to gain prominence in the country music industry, she steered husband Earl Scruggs' career for more than five
decades. Performing several of Mrs. Scruggs' favorite songs were Dwight Yoakam, Travis Tritt, Marty Stuart, Vince Gill and
Ricky Skaggs and the Whites. Actor-musician Billy Bob Thornton and radio personality Eddie Stubbs were among those who provided
personal recollections of Mrs. Scruggs' impact on their lives and the country music industry. A private burial service followed
at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, Tenn.
