The future NASCAR Hall of Fame will be housed in downtown Charlotte, N.C., it was announced Monday (March 6). The final cost
to build the hall is $154.5 million, according to The Charlotte Observer. Completion is expected in 2009. With many
top drivers and teams based in the area, Charlotte is considered by many as the hub city of the sport. The city edged out
Atlanta and Daytona Beach, Fla., for the building.
