The second leg of Kenny Chesney's The Road and the Radio Tour 2006 begins June 1 in Evansville, Ind., he announced Tuesday (March 14). Dierks Bentley will be along for all of the new tour dates, and Carrie Underwood will appear as the opening act for most of the concerts. Bentley and Sugarland are the support acts for the first leg of Chesney's tour that kicks off March 23-24 in Dayton, Ohio. Tuesday's announcement lists more than 25 cities with dates scheduled through early September. Chesney last week announced plans for a July 15 concert at Gillette Stadium near Boston with Bentley, Underwood, Gretchen Wilson and Big & Rich. Chesney has scheduled a Thursday (March 16) press conference at the Coliseum in Nashville. Although the topic of the press conference has not been announced, Nashville is one of several other cities previously mentioned as possible locations for Chesney's series of stadium concerts this summer.
