Keith Anderson Honored by Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame
Keith Anderson will accept the Rising Star award at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame on Oct. 12 in Muskogee during the organization's 10th annual induction ceremony and concert. A native of Miami, Okla., and a graduate of Oklahoma State University, Anderson has found early success with hits including "Pickin' Wildflowers" and "Every Time I Hear Your Name." At the ceremony, four Oklahoma musicians will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, including Leon Russell and Mel McDaniel. The late Eldon Shamblin, guitarist for Bob Wills' Texas Playboys, is also being inducted to coincide with the introduction of a new award named in his honor to recognize the accomplishments of musical sidemen. The late Carl Radle, best known for his work as bassist for Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as the first recipient of the new award.
