While serving as a guest co-host of ABC's The View, newcomer Kellie Pickler was surprised Thursday (Jan. 18) when she
was presented a plaque commemorating the gold certification of her debut album, Small Town Girl. Rosie O'Donnell, one
of the show's co-hosts, made the presentation. "This is awesome," the singer said. "It reinforced that my dreams are becoming
a reality. It's almost better than being in a shoe department where everything's half off!" A gold album certification is
issued by the RIAA when 500,000 copies have been shipped to retailers. Pickler co-hosts The View again Friday (Jan.
19).
