CMT Hot Dish Update
Hazel Smith's CMT Hot Dish column, which runs each Monday on CMT.com, continues a brief hiatus as the veteran
journalist improves daily following surgery in Nashville on April 13. In early April, she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer,
one of the most common cancers in women. Approximately 40,000 women in the U.S. receive the diagnosis each year. Smith, who
also hosts CMT's Southern Fried Flicks With Hazel Smith, says CMT Hot Dish will return in the very near future.
She has also indicated to friends that one of her new missions is to increase public awareness of the disease. (Cards and
