Carrie Underwood's debut album, Some Hearts, has been certified sextuple platinum by the RIAA for shipments of 6 million copies to retailers. According to her record label, Underwood is the only the second solo female country artist to reach the 6-million milestone with a debut album. LeAnn Rimes accomplished it with her 1996 release, Blue. Released Nov. 15, 2005, Some Hearts has spent a total of 26 weeks at No. 1, topping Billboard's Top Country Albums chart for multiple weeks in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Underwood, who is working on a new album planned for release this fall, took home three trophies Tuesday night (May 15) at the ACM Awards.
