Johnny Cash Duet Surfaces on Shaver's CD

A duet with Johnny Cash and Billy Joe Shaver will appear on Shaver's next album, the spiritual Everybody's Brother, due Aug. 7 on Compadre Records. The song, "You Just Can't Beat Jesus Christ," was produced by Cowboy Jack Clement in the 1970s and features guitar work from Eddy Shaver, Billy Joe's son, who was only 15 at the time. Cash famously referred to Shaver as "my favorite songwriter." Other guests on the album include John Anderson, Kris Kristofferson, Randy Scruggs, Marty Stuart and Tanya Tucker.
