Clint Black has partnered with producer James Stroud to record his new album, due later this year. Stroud produced or co-produced all of Black's albums on RCA Records, but in recent years, Black has launched his own label and produced his records himself. "Even though it's been years since James and I worked together, we've remained good friends," Black said. "In the studio, his voice has always been in my head when recording. Besides the talent he brings to the studio, James and I have always been a bit of a comedy team. We picked up right where we left off, having all the laughs we can fit in. But James has some serious ears and a musical brain. He just has a way of listening." As previously reported, Black's new release, "The Strong One," is the first single in his 18-year career he didn't compose.
