Canadian Police Arrest 44 at Country Music Festival
Forty-four people were arrested in Canada during a four-day country music festival that featured Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood,
Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and several other major acts, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) reports. Some 23,000
people showed up for the final day of the Craven Country Music Jamboree which took place Thursday through Sunday (July12-15)
in Craven, Saskatchewan. Ten people were arrested for impaired driving, but the Royal Canadian Mounted Police also investigated
five assaults, two assaults with a weapon, four sexual assaults and seven thefts. The festival, the largest event of its type
in Saskatchewan, also featured performances by Glen Campbell, Randy Owen, Marty Stuart, Ronnie Milsap and others.
