Veteran musician Sam Bush has been named to host the International Bluegrass Music Association's awards show taking place Oct. 4 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. This year's IBMA nominees and inductees into the Bluegrass Hall of Honor will be announced Thursday (Aug. 16) in Nashville during a press conference hosted by Dale Ann Bradley and Del McCoury. Tickets to the awards show go on sale the same day via Ticketmaster. Bush was co-founder and leader of New Grass Revival, and his skills as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist have resulted in a successful solo career and other projects with Emmylou Harris, Lyle Lovett, David Grisman and others. Calling his hosting duties at the IBMA Awards "an honor and a thrill," Bush said, "Bluegrass is and has always been an important part of my life and the foundation of the music I play. I love the music, the pickers and the fans."
