Big & Rich's John Rich and Asleep at the Wheel's Ray Benson are among those scheduled to participate in Grammys on the Hill, a daylong event aimed at educating members of Congress about the importance of music in everyday life. The Sept. 5 event will feature a jam session headed by Keb' Mo' on Capitol Hill to call attention to music preservation. Later that day, an awards gala will be held to honor legendary music producer Quincy Jones for his lifelong contributions to American music. Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts and Rep. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee will be recognized for their legislative support of the arts and music creators. Others participating in the event include songwriter-producer Jimmy Jam, gospel artists BeBe & CeCe Winans and Nashville songwriter Brett James, whose credits include Carrie Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel."
