Tim McGraw helped raise more than $300,000 for brain tumor research during the Tug McGraw Foundation's third annual fundraising gala in St. Louis, organizers announced Wednesday (Nov. 7). McGraw and his band, the Dancehall Doctors, performed to some 400 people during the Friday night (Nov. 2) concert that also featured Faith Hill, Lori McKenna, Lance Miller and Halfway to Hazard. In related news, a group of runners calling itself Team McGraw raised more than $200,000 by participating in the New York Marathon that took place Sunday (Nov. 3). The singer and his father, New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Frank Edwin "Tug" McGraw, established the foundation prior to the elder McGraw's death from a brain tumor in 2004. The two founded the organization with the athlete's friend and caretaker, Jennifer Brusstar.
