Nickel Creek Plays Final Farewell Shows

Nickel Creek concluded their Farewell (For Now) Tour with two shows at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Wednesday and Thursday nights (Nov. 28-29). Although they did not have an opening act, the band (Chris Thile and Sara and Sean Watkins) were joined on stage by bassist Mark Schatz, as well as several musical friends, including Bela Fleck, Tim O'Brien, Benmont Tench, and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. Scott Thile, the band's original bassist (and Chris' father) also performed with the band, which will go on hiatus for an undisclosed amount of time.
