Sara Evans accepted a national award from the Red Cross at her fan club party in downtown Nashville on Friday afternoon (June 6). Evans, a member of the charitable organization's celebrity cabinet since 2005, dedicated the Crystal Cross award to her fans. In addition to a performance with her band, she also thanked her fans for their prayers during her divorce last year. "This time last year at my fan club party, I have to be honest with you, I don't really remember much about that night or much about that week or that whole year because I was under a tremendous amount of stress. I was crying all the time," she said. "And you guys have been there with me through all of it. I have received so many letters and e-mails full of well-wishes, and people telling me they were praying for me and your prayers worked. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart because I'm not even the same girl that I was last year. I've never felt more blessed, I've never felt more love, I've never felt happier and I've never felt healthier. And I've never felt more loved than I do right now. I just want you to know how much I appreciate it."
