The recent Toby Keith & Friends Celebrity Golf Classic in Oklahoma set a new record by raising $709,000 for Ally's House, a nonprofit organization that helps families dealing with childhood cancer. Exceeding last year's total of $500,000, Keith has raised more than $2.3 million for the charity since establishing the golf tournament five years ago. More than 750 people attended the weekend of golfing, music and a silent auction. The year's top bid of $35,000 was received for dinner with Keith. Memorabilia was also donated by George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Loretta Lynn and Tom Hanks and sports greats Tiger Woods, Brett Favre, LeBron James, Andre Agassi, Tony Stewart, Peyton Manning, Troy Aikman and Nolan Ryan. The event benefits Ally's House, an organization named for Allison Webb, who died at age 2 after battling kidney cancer. She is the daughter of Scott Webb, an original member of Keith's band. "I knew we could make a difference with Ally's House, but it really is even bigger than I'd hoped," Keith said. "We've helped a ton of families, and we're proud that we have never had to turn away an Oklahoma family that needs help."
