Farm Aid 2008 Goes to New England
Farm Aid 2008 concert will be held Sept. 20 at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Mass., Farm Aid co-founder John Mellencamp
announced Tuesday (July 15) at the Copley Square Farmers Market in Boston. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor
Thomas M. Menino also spoke during the press conference. The concert in the Boston suburb marks the first time a Farm Aid
concert has been staged in New England. The show will feature Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Dave Matthews
and Mellencamp. Additional performers will be announced later. "New England was built on the strength of independent family
farmers," Mellencamp said. "We can honor that independent spirit by joining Farm Aid to grow the movement that is changing
the way all of America eats." Tickets go on sale July 28 via Ticketmaster.
