Raul Malo Signs With Fantasy Records, Plans Tour

Raul Malo, former lead singer of the Mavericks, has signed with Fantasy Records, the jazz imprint that also served as label home to Creedence Clearwater Revival. His first album for Fantasy includes all-original music and is scheduled to be released in early 2009. Malo launches a summer tour on Wednesday night (July 16) in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Other cities in the itinerary include Bakersfield, Calif. (Buck Owens' Crystal Palace); Gruene, Texas (Gruene Hall); New York City (Rockin' the River Cruise); Northampton, Mass. (Iron Horse Music Hall); and Ann Arbor, Mich. (The Ark).
