Kenny Chesney and Ronnie Milsap will be paying tribute to Nashville's most famous musical family during a fundraising dinner scheduled for Aug. 26 in Nashville. The event is taking place to present Leadership Music's Dale Franklin Leadership Award to the Bradley family, a clan that includes two Country Music Hall of Fame members -- brothers Owen and Harold Bradley. Owen Bradley, who died in 1998, is one of the most famous record producers in country music history, having produced classics by Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Kitty Wells, Ernest Tubb and many others. He and his brother, a prolific session musician who has spent almost 50 years as president of the Nashville chapter of the American Federation of Musicians, opened the first recording studio on what became Nashville's Music Row. Owen Bradley's daughter, Patsy Bradley, is the former assistant vice president of BMI, and his son, Jerry Bradley, enjoyed a four-decade career as a record label and publishing company executive at RCA and Opryland Music Group/Acuff-Rose Music Publishing. Jerry Bradley's wife, Connie Bradley, is senior vice president of ASCAP. Brenda Lee, another artist Owen Bradley produced, will host the dinner at Loews Vanderbilt Plaza hotel. The Dale Franklin Award recognizes those in the music industry who exemplify "the highest quality of leadership and leading by example."
