Hal Ketchum Records New Album in Just Two Days
At a time when most country albums are recorded over the period of several months, Hal Ketchum made his new album in two days. Scheduled for Sept. 9 release, Father Time was recorded live to a two-track tape with no overdubs and only a few second takes. The project includes 13 of his original songs and a cover of Tom Waits' "Jersey Girl." The idea for the back-to-basics session came from Ketchum's conversation about how modern technology has affected the way albums are recorded and how they sound. "When I went into this project, my mentality was that this is either going to work or not," he said. Ketchum's Top 10 hits in the '90s include "Small Town Saturday Night, "Past the Point of Rescue," "Sure Love" and "Stay Forever."
